Telangana student Sreeja Reddy Koya goes for a walk in Boston, never returns home

Sreeja Reddy Koya, a 23-year-old student from Telangana, went missing in Boston, US, on November 2 after taking a walk. She hails from Shabdullapuram village in Nalgonda district of Telangana. Sreeja had relocated to the United States around 1.5 years ago to attend the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she was pursuing higher education and working part-time.

According to her family, she attended college as usual on the day of her disappearance, returned to her room, and then went out for a walk. However, she was not seen again and her mobile phone remained off. A missing-person report was filed with the police the next day, and the Boston Police Department launched an appeal for public assistance in locating her.

Sreeja's father, Koyya Yadagiri Reddy, expressed his concern and anxiety over his daughter's safety, stating that her college was also informed about her disappearance. Authorities believe she may have walked about one kilometer before going missing, and she was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The Boston Police have suggested that she could be in the Carson Beach or Harbor Point areas.

The Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister and Nalgonda MLA, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, have reached out to Indian diplomatic authorities, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Boston Police for help in locating Sreeja. The Telugu Association of North America has also been consulted to coordinate search efforts.
