Sambutan Deepavali wadah pererat perpaduan, semai nilai ihsan dan keprihatinan
Deepavali menyemarakkan semangat 'pesta cahaya' yang melambangkan kemenangan cahaya mengatasi kegelapan, kata perdana menteri.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim extended his felicitations on Deepavali to the celebrating community, emphasizing its role in strengthening unity and bridging gaps between communities. He highlighted the importance of instilling values of respect, understanding, and acceptance of differences amidst the diverse cultural and traditional landscape of the country.
In a largely pluralistic society, Anwar stressed the need to continuously reinforce the spirit of mutual respect and empathy. He expressed hope that this Deepavali would infuse a new sense of enthusiasm for fostering open-minded, pure, and progressive thinking, thereby elevating the stature of the people and reinforcing national harmony.
Wishing the celebrating community a season of joy, peace, and prosperity, Anwar also attributed the festival's rays of happiness to dispelling darkness, righteousness triumphing over wickedness, and knowledge liberating humanity from ignorance and prejudice.
