Roma has met with Alejandro Balde's agent, Jorge Mendes, in an effort to secure the Spanish left-back for the January transfer window, as per Spanish newspaper SPORT. The Giallorossi believe they have a chance to sign Balde before the next transfer window if the club's financial situation allows for it. Barcelona is looking to bolster their defense, and Balde is reportedly among the top candidates for a move, despite playing only 124 minutes this season.
The club is reportedly seeking a fee of around €40 million for the full-back, although a loan with an obligation to buy could also be a possibility. Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Manchester United are all monitoring the situation, with Juventus also showing interest. Roma's sporting director, Tony D'Amico, has already begun discussions with Mendes regarding a potential deal, with the main hurdle being Balde's salary.
Mendes is evaluating his options, and Roma is waiting to see if the financial conditions for the transfer are met.
