Maria Conceição’s new UAE book helps rescue cats and empowers young girls

Portuguese humanitarian and Guinness World Record holder Maria Conceição teamed up with photographer Abhi Indrarajan to photograph her rescued cats. The photos were meant to help find the cats new homes, but Abhi gifted Maria a whole book as a gift. The book, titled "The UAE Adventures: A Paw-some Journey Across the UAE," takes readers on a colorful journey through the seven emirates of the UAE, showcasing iconic landmarks and attractions through the eyes of the rescued cats.

Maria currently cares for dozens of abandoned, injured, and disabled cats, including Mango, an eight-month-old kitten recovering from paralysis. Abhi's gift has turned into an entrepreneurial opportunity for Maria. By selling the book, she aims to cover veterinary care and daily expenses for the cats. However, the real magic lies in the fact that the girls Maria supports will become the sales team. Instead of learning entrepreneurship through textbooks, they will gain hands-on experience in building a real business.

The book also serves as a meaningful corporate gifting option for UAE companies, employees, clients, and events. It allows them to celebrate the country while supporting Maria's girls' entrepreneurial journey. Maria acknowledges Abhi's creativity and generosity, stating that he has given them more than just a book. He has given them an opportunity to build something lasting.

From a humble start with one photographer helping a few rescued cats find homes, the project has evolved into something much bigger. It now offers young girls the chance to learn how to build a business and provides abandoned animals with a better future. Priced at Dh100, "The UAE Adventures" is available for individual purchases and corporate bulk orders.
