‘Kalau saya PM, saya dah pecat’, Muhyiddin cadang rombak Kabinet

Former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has suggested that Anwar Ibrahim may dismiss certain ministers from his Cabinet due to their open criticism of the unity government. The current Prime Minister, speaking to Sinar Harian while campaigning for Bersatu candidates in Pengkalan Batu, argued that their defiance could jeopardize the stability of the government.

Muhyiddin contended that these ministers should be removed from their positions and prevented from serving in the same administration as the Prime Minister, as their conduct would undermine the foundations of the government. He suggested that any dissatisfaction with government policies or decisions should be resolved through internal party or Cabinet discussions, rather than openly criticizing the government.

Muhyiddin emphasized that as members of the government, members should not criticize the government or its members, as this undermines the unity of the government. In a recent incident on November 5, Anwar challenged several Cabinet ministers during the PRN Melaka campaign, reigniting tensions between the two parties. Prior to this, Muhyiddin had accused certain federal officeholders of using their positions to criticize the unity government during the PRN Negeri Sembilan campaign in August.

In response, Zahid Hamidi, the Deputy Prime Minister and BN chairman, defended his party members, stating that Anwar can dismiss any dissatisfied ministers if he is not satisfied with them. The two parties, despite being coalition partners at the federal level, did not cooperate during the PRN Melaka election, while BN instead formed a run-up alliance with the Perikatan Nasional (PN).
