Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has provided insight into the criticism faced by manager Martin O’Neill from Celtic supporters. The pressure on O’Neill has been mounting following recent poor results, including back-to-back defeats against Rangers. However, Hart explained that the criticism is rooted in the fans' passionate support for the club.
He emphasized that Celtic supporters are intelligent football fans who demand excellence both domestically and in European competitions. O’Neill, who is well aware of the high expectations placed on him, is "absolutely adored" by the Parkhead faithful. Despite the scrutiny, Hart acknowledged that the team's performance has been inconsistent, highlighting the lack of goals from the strikers as a concern.
He paid tribute to young players like Camilo Duran and Callum Osmand, who have stepped up in recent matches. Hart concluded by expressing his admiration for Celtic and the challenges it faces under the current board dynamics.
