Indie App Spotlight: ‘CueFlip’ automatically turns the page for your sheet music

Indie App Spotlight introduces CueFlip, a revolutionary app designed to automatically turn pages while playing sheet music on devices like iPhones and iPads. CueFlip aims to eliminate the interruption of pausing to manually turn pages, allowing musicians to focus solely on their performance. The app operates by learning an individual's playing style through live rehearsals or recordings, then identifying and marking page turns as required.

Users can also access a built-in dictionary with up to 13 language translations to understand musical terms and notations. The app supports over 20,000 musical terms and can extract terms from scanned scores. Additionally, CueFlip offers gesture-based manual page turning via Face ID, with wink gestures for forward and backward page turns.

It also works with manual Bluetooth page turners for flexibility. The app was developed by Yuze Pan, a 15-year-old classical guitarist from Beijing, who faced challenges with page turns during their group rehearsals. Pan started working on CueFlip in 2025, incorporating audio alignment research and testing updates with their quartet.

CueFlip is currently free on the App Store, with a Pro version offering unlimited features for $4.99/month or $29.99/year.
