The 2026 national championship rematch will take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET between No. 4 UConn and No. 16 Michigan at TD Garden in Boston. This game is part of the TNT Sports Hall of Fame Series. UConn is seeking revenge after losing to Michigan in the previous championship game by a score of 69-63. The Huskies kicked off their 2026-27 season with a strong 86-46 victory over Gardner-Webb, with Braylon Mullins scoring 20 points.

UConn enters the game with high aspirations for another national championship and will face tough nonconference opponents such as Arizona, Duke, Illinois, and Kansas.

Michigan, on the other hand, will be defending their title with new leadership. Coach Dusty May has been replaced by Mike Boynton, who inherited a program that had not won a national championship since 1989. The Wolverines began their season with an impressive 84-68 win over Oakland, led by Roddy Gayle Jr., who scored 17 points. Michigan will aim to prove they can remain among the nation's elite against the determined UConn team.
