FULL LIST: Chelle names 24-man squad for 2027 AFCON qualifiers

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced a 24-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Tanzania. Head coach Éric Chelle has selected captain Wilfred Ndidi alongside defenders Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and forwards Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams.

Goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Arthur Okonkwo, and Francis Uzoho complete the squad. Nigeria will host Tanzania at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on November 13, before traveling to Zanzibar for the return fixture on November 17. These matches are crucial for Nigeria's qualification hopes, as they currently occupy second position in Group L and must secure victories in both encounters to strengthen their chances of claiming the group's only qualification ticket for the 2027 tournament in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
