Finidi vows Rivers revival amid winless run

Rivers United coach Finidi George has called on his team to rediscover their winning form after a four-match winless streak, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. A 1-1 home draw against Enugu Rangers in the Nigeria Premier Football League saw Chijioke Mbaoma score the only goal for Rivers, but Godwin Obaje equalized for Rangers in the 53rd minute.

This marks Rivers' second home draw in three matches, adding to their recent struggles. The draw has pushed the team to third place after 11 matches, three points behind leaders Rangers. Finidi addressed his players, instructing them to move past the loss and focus on recovering the points lost. Their next match, against Sporting Lagos, has been indefinitely postponed.

Finidi, in his third season with the Port Harcourt-based club, aims to avoid another title race, having finished runners-up in the previous two seasons. The team's off-field dispute with the NPFL over broadcasting rights has resulted in a suspended N15m fine, three points, and three goals if the club violates broadcasting regulations again during the season.
