A controversy erupted within the Celestial Church of Christ over a ban on female trousers, nose rings, artificial nails, heavy makeup and other fashion choices. Members expressed strong opinions on the issue, with some defending the restrictions and others arguing that the focus should be on one's heart rather than outward appearance.
The church's notice listed various forms of dressing and adornment considered unacceptable in the church, including nose rings, leg chains, long fingernails, transparent garments, and trousers. The directive has reignited debates within the church regarding the balance between Christian holiness, personal appearance, cultural expectations and fashion trends.
