Fox News found itself fixated on WNBA player Sophie Cunningham following Tuesday's Republican midterm losses. Since then, the network has run multiple segments on Cunningham, many of which revolved around her post on social media. Political journalist Aaron Rupar described the coverage as "beyond parody." The majority of Fox News' attention has been on Cunningham's stance against biological men competing in women's sports.
Despite Cunningham's own political views being "right in the middle," she has become a hero for many conservatives. Fox News hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Brett Cooper praised Cunningham for her work defending women's sports, referring to her as "hot" and "funny." Fox News' coverage of Cunningham has continued, with multiple segments airing throughout the week.
