Yang di-Pertuan Agong's decree has been urged to be enforced by the legal firm of Shafee & Co, representing Najib Razak, the former president of Umno. The AGC, Malaysia’s Attorney-General’s Chambers, has been asked to comply with the decree by committing to its contents. The firm stated in a statement that the AGC cannot continue to hold their client in Kajang Prison while this is happening.

Despite the AGC not announcing the temporary suspension, Najib remains imprisoned in Kajang Prison and the decree's execution remains unclear. The palace had previously stated that any challenge to a conditional pardon allowing Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest is clear, explicit, and free from ambiguity, and has no relation to any other cases against Najib.

The palace also affirmed that all conditions of the conditional pardon have been met and there should be no misunderstanding or prolonged confusion about its implementation. Meanwhile, Najib's legal team urged the AGC to withdraw the temporary suspension and urged the Chief Inspector of Prisons to transfer Najib to his residence at Langkawi Duta Street immediately, as mandated by the Agong.

The decree must be carried out today, according to the legal team. Yesterday, Umno publicly cleared Najib of a RM50 million fine imposed after he raised funds through a donation drive. The High Court in Kuala Lumpur subsequently issued a release order after the payment was recorded, but AGC released a statement claiming the house arrest order should be delayed while examining the legal issues surrounding the pardon order and its impact.

Najib's lawyer emphasized that AGC does not have the authority to delay the royal prerogative of mercy, and any issues concerning the court order should be brought to the court.
