2027: I have seen the light - Okowa dumps Atiku for Tinubu

Former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa announced his support for President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 election. Okowa made the announcement at an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He revealed that he had previously been on another ticket in 2023, as the running mate of Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Okowa stated that he had come to see the truth about Tinubu's actions and the direction Nigeria is heading, and he could no longer remain in the dark. He praised Tinubu for his efforts to benefit Nigeria and admitted that while the President has made tough decisions, they are now starting to produce positive results. Okowa emphasized that his decision to support Tinubu is not driven by personal gain, but rather a desire for Delta and Nigeria to progress.

He clarified that he was not in opposition solely for personal reasons, but because he believed in the truth and felt compelled to follow it.
