Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has expressed doubts about the prospects of Rivers State NDC governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, winning the upcoming 2027 election. During a town hall meeting in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Wike urged Lulu-Briggs' kin not to vote for him simply because he is their son. He stated that Lulu-Briggs' chances of victory are slim, regardless of the party he represents, and urged the attendees to support the APC candidate, Kingsley Chinda, whose running mate is also their son. Wike emphasized, "Your son can't win."
