Umfrage: Hohe Bereitschaft zu persönlichen Einschnitten bei Reformen

A recent Civey survey of 5,000 German adults for the Association of Electrical and Digital Industries (ZVEI) reveals a strong willingness among many citizens to accept personal sacrifices for sustainable social reforms. The survey found that 41% of respondents were willing to make short-term personal compromises for such reforms, with the figure rising to 56% among those aged 30-39 and 46% among 18-29 year-olds.

In contrast, only 24% of those aged 40-49 expressed similar willingness. Despite these variations across age groups, there is a broad consensus across all age groups that Germany needs comprehensive political reforms, not just to secure social security systems in the medium to long term. An overwhelming 83% of respondents feel this way.

The survey also highlights the public's desire for reduced bureaucracy (44%), more efficient use of government spending (36%), and socially sustainable systems (35). Additionally, 32% of respondents want the federal government to make electricity more affordable. ZVEI President Daniel Hager commented on the survey results, stating that Germans want change because they realize existing the status quo is insufficient, while the world around them is rapidly changing.

He emphasized that citizens do not want "empty promises" but rather structural improvements and reliable relief.
