President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that he asked Washington to negotiate a winter ceasefire with Russia that could protect Ukraine’s energy supplies and create conditions for presidential elections. In a German television interview, he said voting under martial law would be unfair to soldiers on the front lines, refugees abroad and residents of Russian-occupied territories.
