Sania Mirza meets CM Revanth Reddy, thanks him amid new AITA role

Sania Mirza, the renowned former Indian tennis player, recently met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and expressed her gratitude on Instagram. The six-time Grand Slam winner shared a photo from their encounter, praising him for his warm hospitality and appreciating the support he extended to the state. "Thank you for being so gracious and warm Sir. Looking forward to more amazing things for Telangana," Sania captioned the image.

This meeting took place at a time when Sania has embarked on her new role within tennis administration. She recently secured a position as a representative of sportspersons of outstanding merit in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) General Body, alongside former doubles star Mahesh Bhupathi. Both were subsequently elected to the AITA Executive Committee, bringing their wealth of experience to the decision-making structure of the federation.

Sania expressed her intention to leverage her professional playing experience to understand the challenges faced by the next generation of tennis players in India. Her meeting with Revanth Reddy is an independent engagement and is not directly related to her new AITA responsibilities. The former world No. 1 in doubles formally retired from professional tennis in February 2023, but her interaction with the Telangana chief minister highlights her continued impact and reputation in the state.
