Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust, two veteran Pittsburgh Penguins forwards, could become trade targets for the Ottawa Senators, according to reports. The Penguins may be considering shedding some of their more expensive contracts to reshape their roster and collect pieces through trades and free agency. Ottawa is searching for scoring depth to make a serious push this season, and the Penguins could provide the necessary assets.
Ottawa has young players like Kasper Halttunen and potential future considerations that could interest the Penguins. Both teams have a mutual interest in improving their rosters, and if the Penguins are willing to move on from Rust and Rakell, Ottawa should be closely watching the situation.
