Rotimi Amaechi, the vice presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has revealed the reason behind his children's inability to attend school in Nigeria. In an interview with News Central Television, Amaechi recounted his experience of being chased out of Nigeria by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo after winning the PDP gubernatorial primary in Rivers State in 2006.
Obasanjo allegedly stopped Amaechi from contesting the 2007 election, leading to Amaechi's exile. The former governor spent around ten months in exile, during which his children began their education abroad. Amaechi explained that his children could not return to Nigerian schools due to their settlement in foreign institutions. He emphasized that Obasanjo's actions were responsible for his children's inability to return to school in Nigeria.
