NYSC investigates corps members’ complaint over hospital treatment in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has probed allegations from two corps members who claimed they were denied medical assistance at the General Hospital, Iwo. The investigation was prompted by a video shared online by Olaode Testimony and his friend, Olusegun Victor, both serving in Ayedire Local Government Area.

The video showed the corps members struggling to get treatment after visiting the hospital following suspected food poisoning. According to Olaode, they arrived at the hospital around 10:05 pm after experiencing symptoms they believed were caused by food poisoning. Despite their efforts, they were unable to receive treatment. The NYSC's probe found that the corps members did not follow the proper channels for reporting emergencies, such as contacting their Local Government Inspector, Zonal Inspector, Corps Liaison Officer, or State Coordinator.

Instead, they sought help at a pharmacy in Iwo after leaving the hospital. The investigation recommended further action to be taken by the Corps Disciplinary Committee.
