MJ Lenderman, the Asheville singer-songwriter, has released a new Neil Young cover and a foreword for the Penguin Classics edition of Harry Crews' 1990 novel Body. Lenderman debuted several new songs at the Good Moon Festival last month, hinting at an upcoming Manning Fireworks follow-up, though no further details have been provided.
The new Neil Young tribute series, Heart Of Gold, includes two volumes: Vol. 2 - Out Of The Blue and Vol. 3 - Into The Black. Lenderman's rendition of "Separate Ways," originally from Young's 2020 LP Homegrown, is featured in the third volume. Additionally, The Paris Review published Lenderman's foreword about Crews' novel, which will be released next week.
