WASHINGTON: Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Britain’s Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was arrested on Friday on a charge of possessing child sexual abuse material, including photographs of himself with naked underage girls, found in rented storage units in California.
Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, the duchess of Sussex, was arrested on Friday in Florida on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material, including images of himself with naked underage girls. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the 82-year-old father-in-law of Prince Harry targeted innocent children and sought to steal their innocence through his criminal actions.
Markle, who was allegedly found with sexually explicit material in two rented storage units in California since 2008, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison. The FBI began investigating Markle in October after receiving reports from witnesses in the Philippines.
British police have referred the allegations to overseas law enforcement agencies. Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry in 2018, expressed deep distress over the allegations.
