Meghan Markle's father arrested in US over child sex abuse material
US federal agents arrested Thomas Markle in Florida. The Duchess of Sussex and television actress Meghan Markle, who is estranged from her father, said she was "deeply distressed" by the charges.
Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle Sr., has been arrested in Florida on charges related to child sex abuse material, including possession of sexually explicit photographs of himself with prepubescent girls. The 82-year-old was charged with one count of possession of child sex abuse imagery and faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
Federal agents searched two storage units in the Los Angeles area and seized approximately 78 items containing suspected child sexual abuse images. The allegations against Markle Sr. are extremely serious, and his son, Thomas Markle Jr., recently revealed that a letter containing troubling allegations about his father had been sent to London police in 2018. Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, expressed her deep distress over the allegations.
