Ex-gov hails massive turnout at Atiku’s Sokoto campaign

Former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal described the large turnout at Atiku Abubakar’s ADC presidential campaign flag-off as an indication of a desire for change, according to Punch Nigeria.

Speaking during the ADC presidential campaign in Kebbi State on Thursday, party chieftain Dino Melaye claimed that the Abuja Federal High Court judgment nullifying Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate and sacking the party's national leadership was a reaction to a "Tsunami" in Sokoto State. Melaye, a former Kogi West senator, urged party members and Nigerians to ignore the court ruling.

Melaye also stated that the campaign group was barricaded by over 100 men in police uniforms who used tear gas and stones to attempt to stop them. He noted that the judgment notice was sent at 11 p.m. the night before it was delivered.
