APGA flags off national campaign, officially adopts Tinubu as party's candidate for 2027

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has begun its national campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, officially naming President Bola Tinubu as their candidate. The rally in Awka, Anambra State, saw the party hand out flags to 44 candidates seeking election in the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly in Anambra State.

The National Leader of APGA, Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, urged party members to take the reelection of President Tinubu seriously, stating that a successful outcome would allow them to demand certain concessions during his second term. Soludo emphasized that the party members should engage with constituents, door-to-door, market to market, to ensure a strong turnout in the January 16 presidential election, as well as for the subsequent National Assembly and House of Assembly elections in February.

The governor also highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu administration, including infrastructure development such as the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and urged the electorate to support the president in order to secure a landslide victory for the APGA candidates. Soludo stated that he and his sister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, have independently confirmed that the economy under Tinubu is thriving.

The rally took place at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, with supporters and party members from across the state and the nation in attendance.
