Kimi Antonelli, the new world champion, led the second practice session for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at the Mercedes team. Mercedes' driver, who had recently won the drivers' title by finishing third in Mexico, quickly adapted to the Interlagos circuit, setting a time of one minute and 10.763 seconds, which was 0.253 seconds faster than McLaren's Lando Norris.
Verstappen of Red Bull was in third place, with George Russell of Mercedes in fourth. Audi's Gabriel Bortoleto came in eighth, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was ninth. The session was marked by the presence of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, who struggled to increase his tyre temperatures due to the changeable weather conditions.
