Announcing the New AGU Publications Editors-in-Chief Starting in 2027

AGU Publications has announced six new Editors-in-Chief (EiCs) who will assume their roles in 2027. The outgoing EiCs include Kate Lajtha from Oregon State University, Julia K. Parrish from the University of Washington, Stephen Griffies from Sorbonne Université/CNRS, Marguerite A. Xenopoulos from Trent University, Lisa M. Beal from the University of Miami, and Georgia Destouni from Stockholm University.

They will be succeeded by Jeffrey A. Karson from Syracuse University, Kathryn Semmens from The Nurture Nature Center, Steven J. Fletcher from Colorado State University, Ankur Desai from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Arvind Singh from Physical Research Laboratory, and Alberto Guadagnini from Politecnico di Milano. The EiC searches are conducted through an open call and managed by Search Committees, which make recommendations to the Publications Committee.

The final decisions are then reviewed by leaders of the Board, Council, Leadership Development/Governance Committee, and staff partners.
