Alanis Morissette has unveiled her debut holiday album, titled "Good Weather for Immaculate Conception." This 14-track collection encompasses beloved Christmas standards, such as "O Holy Night," "Ave Maria," and "Silent Night," alongside two original compositions. The album also features contemporary yuletide tunes like "Last Christmas" and "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)." Additionally, Morissette has penned fresh tracks, "Christmas on the Dance Floor" and "To an Empath at Christmas Time."
The singer collaborated with a diverse array of guest artists for this project, including Joy Oladokun, Amythyst Kiah, Martin Short, and a UK trans choir known as Trans Voices. A snippet of the album, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem," was released for preview in early October, featuring Morissette alongside Brandi Carlile on vocals and Steve Martin on banjo.
Morissette's holiday album launch coincides with the commencement of a limited engagement of her "Butterfly with a Machete" concert residency at the YouTube Theater, which took place on a Thursday evening.
