Rivers State Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has introduced more than 80 campaign buses for the candidates of the Rainbow Coalition. According to Wike's media aide, Lere Olayinka, the vehicles are for the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and their campaign teams and coordinators.
Olayinka shared the news on his official Facebook page on Friday, stating that the buses were showcased on major streets of Port Harcourt before moving to the stadium. The roadshow aimed to raise awareness and generate excitement prior to President Bola Tinubu's visit, as supporters spread the campaign message throughout the city.
President Tinubu is scheduled to visit Rivers State on Saturday for a campaign rally ahead of the upcoming January 16 presidential election. However, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state has criticized the president's planned visit, citing that Rivers people still recall the state of emergency Tinubu imposed during the political crisis in the region.
