Trump talks marble, chandeliers and drones while showcasing US$400m White House ballroom as Democrats seize Congress in midterm rout

President Donald Trump showcased the new White House ballroom during his press conference following his party's midterms defeat. Trump described the ballroom as one of the biggest and most beautiful in the world, emphasizing its classical columns carved from limestone. He also highlighted the high-quality marble flooring that has been sought after for over 50 years.

Trump unveiled plans to install 100 drones on the building's roof and mentioned that Chinese President Xi Jinping had admired the structure during his visit in September. The president then spoke for 16 minutes about various aspects of the ballroom, including chandeliers and kitchen layouts. He downplayed the significance of the midterm results, stating that the country was more successful than ever.

Trump dismissed the controversy surrounding the Iran war and the rising cost of living, and warned Democrats against attempting to impeach him again. During the Q&A session, Trump remained positive about his prospects for the remaining two years of his presidency and insisted on watching the steel beams being installed.
