Torrevieja's Three Kings Parade budget has surged by 25%, reaching nearly €300,000 for the 2027 festivities. The city council has approved a tender worth €296,725.75, including VAT, for the celebrations in Torrevieja and La Mata. This represents a €59,467 increase from the €237,258 spent on the 2026 event.
The enhanced budget will cover seven electric floats, elaborate fantasy performances, marching bands, dancers, nearly two tonnes of sweets, and nearly 500 metal barriers. The main parade is scheduled for January 5th, featuring Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar arriving by boat at Torrevieja's port. The procession will wind its way through the town, with decorations and crowd management measures in place.
Five self-propelled electric floats, each up to nine metres long, will showcase the Kings, Nativity, and Star of Bethlehem. Entertainment includes a Dreamlike Fantasy production, eight stilt walkers, four dance groups, and three marching bands. Donkeys and handlers will also be part of the festivities, collecting children's letters and distributing flags.
The budget also includes €49,417 for costumes, €16,951 for sweets, and €49,417 for royal heralds and pages. Medical cover, support staff, and gifts for visits to hospitals and nursing homes are also allocated. The total cost is slightly higher than the combined budgets of Orihuela and Orihuela Costa parades.
