For rice, Nesto's 5kg basmati rice is the cheapest at Dh20.99, or approximately Dh4.20 per kilogram. Shopping for 5kg of rice and 4kg of sugar would cost Dh29.98.

Eggs are priced differently by retailers. Choithrams lists white eggs at Dh3.45 for 15, or 23 fils each. Carrefour's brown eggs cost Dh14.55 for 30, approximately 49 fils per egg. Checking product specifications is necessary when comparing egg prices.

Fresh chicken at Emirates Coop is Dh12.44 for 1.1kg, equivalent to Dh11.31 per kilogram. White sliced bread at Sharjah Coop is Dh3 for a 490g pack, or Dh6.12 per kilogram. Nesto's 650g pack costs Dh3.99, approximately Dh6.14 per kilogram.
