Police are investigating Aiwanger's death, with an autopsy likely to be conducted, according to a spokesperson from the State Attorney's Office.

EMTs were on scene as part of the inquiry, which is being treated with heightened importance to rule out any external involvement. The motive is yet unknown, as the inquest into Aiwanger's death began on Wednesday. The identity of those who discovered Aiwanger remains undisclosed. The Minister of Economic Affairs for Bavaria had been accompanied by officials from Bavaria's Landeskriminalamt during his time in Berlin.
