Omaforge, the World of Warcraft addon manager for Linux, has released version 0.2.9 with new features to help users manage their addons more efficiently. One of the key additions is the ability to "star" addons, allowing users to bookmark any addon they've come across but haven't installed yet. This feature enables users to easily find and install the addon later without any hassle.

The "star" functionality can be accessed by clicking the ☆ icon on an addon in Explore, Search, Installed, or its details view. Stars are not only saved between sessions but also shared across all versions of the game and remain intact even after removing the addon.

In addition to the "star" feature, version 0.2.9 introduces a new "Starred" tab. This tab is placed between the Search and Backups sections and displays all the addons that the user has starred. The tab provides convenient filtering options, sorting capabilities (Recently starred or Name), and a toggle to show addons that haven't been installed yet. This tab enhances the overall user experience by providing a quick and organized way to access starred addons.

To install the updated version, users can choose from various package formats depending on their Linux distribution. For Arch or Omarchy, they can use the command "sudo pacman -U omaforge-0.2.9-1-any.pkg.tar.zst". Debian 13+ and Ubuntu 26.04+ users can install the package by running "sudo apt install ./omaforge_0.2.9-1_all.deb".

Fedora users can use "sudo dnf install ./omaforge-0.2.9-1.noarch.rpm". For other Linux distributions, users can download the AppImage, grant execution permissions using "chmod +x omaforge-0.2.9-x86_64.AppImage", and then run the app by typing "./omaforge-0.2.9-x86_64.AppImage". If desired, they can also add a desktop entry for easier access using the "--install-desktop-entry" flag.

The new version of omaforge is available on the v0.2.9 release on GitHub, and the source code is also accessible on the same platform.
