Kerala-born Nithya Raman wins Los Angeles mayoral race: Trump warns of 'disaster'

US President Donald Trump expressed concern on Thursday over the electoral triumphs of progressive candidates in major American cities, including Los Angeles and Washington DC. The Republican leader warned that Democratic Socialist leadership in these urban centers could potentially result in a disastrous outcome. Trump specifically commented on Nithya Raman's victory in the Los Angeles mayor's race, where she secured 51.1% of the votes against incumbent Karen Bass, whose share was 48.33%.

Raman, a Democratic Socialist affiliated with the organization of the same name, defeated the incumbent Mayor Bass in a close contest.
