Ice Cavern dungeon walkthrough in Ocarina of Time

The Ice Cavern is a short, but important dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. To progress, you must retrieve the Iron Boots by defeating freezing enemies, collecting ice crystals, pushing ice blocks, and overcoming a furry obstacle, all while avoiding falling stalactites. To successfully navigate the Ice Cavern, follow these steps:

1. Approach the Ice Cavern cautiously, listening for the falling stalactites and using an empty bottle to collect blue fire for melting red ice.

2. Defeat Freezards by waiting for their icy breath to finish before attacking or using your Hookshot to quickly approach them.

3. Locate and collect five ice crystals in the subsequent room, breaking stalagmites on your left and jumping over spinning fans to reach the crystals.

4. Proceed through the room with rotating blades, carefully navigating around falling stalactites and Ice Keese, and collecting blue fire to melt red ice.

5. Enter the room with red ice blocks and chests, defeating Freezards and melting red ice with blue fire to open chests containing the dungeon map and blue fire.

6. Restore health and magic at the blue fire and refill your bottle before continuing.

7. Break the ice blocks containing blue rupees and fairy thoughts, and play the Sun's Song to restore health and magic.

8. Defeat any remaining Ice Keese and collect a compass from the chest containing blue fire.

9. Return to the previous room with the rotating blade, melting red ice on the lower level and pushing the ice block west.

10. Collect five ice crystals again in the next room, utilizing the pushable square ice block as a stepping stone to reach the remaining crystals.

11. Push the ice block off the edge, collecting a red rupee in the process.

12. Finally, use the Song of Time to unlock the door and claim your reward.
