Ghana AIDS Commission to distribute ultra-thin condoms from November 6

The Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) is preparing to launch a new line of ultra-thin condoms on November 6, in response to user feedback regarding the comfort and suitability of existing products. The innovative condoms are designed to provide enhanced comfort, elasticity, durability, and lubrication, with sizes tailored to fit the needs of Ghanaian men.

Director-General of the Commission, Dr Kharmacelle Prosper Akanbong, revealed that the new range was developed based on complaints received during prior evaluations. Addressing concerns on JoyNews, Dr Akanbong emphasized that the Commission's objective was to improve user experience without sacrificing the quality and effectiveness of the condoms.

He stated that the ultra-thin condoms would offer comparable comfort to other commercial ultra-thin condoms on the market and would address many user complaints. The new condoms have also been engineered to have improved elasticity, durability, and lubrication, further enhancing user satisfaction. Dr Akanbong announced that the initial batch of condoms is expected to receive approval from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) before being distributed.

Upon approval, the Commission plans to supply the condoms to its stakeholders and various distribution centers, making them available for public use from November 6 or as early as Monday, November 9, depending on the FDA's approval and release process.
