EA is bringing 25 classic PC games to Steam

Electronic Arts (EA) is making 25 classic PC games available on Steam, including Anniversary Editions of Road Rash and six Wing Commander titles. These special editions preserve the original look and feel of the games while incorporating quality-of-life updates and performance improvements to support modern systems and controls.

The seven new editions were inspired by the discovery of a "physical media vault" containing thousands of Betacam, VHS, and D1 tapes, as well as other media assets. EA was able to recover master FMV sequences, which were reedited to restore over 1,500 scenes from the games. Some Wing Commander games will also officially incorporate community-made mods.

Road Rash and Wing Commander Anniversary editions are priced at $9.99 each, while the remaining classic games, such as Ultima and Crusader titles, will be available for $4.99. Players can obtain these games on Steam, GOG, and the EA App. The full list of the 25 games includes Road Rash: 30th Anniversary Edition, Wing Commander: 35th Anniversary Edition, Privateer 2: The Darkening: 30th Anniversary Edition, Ultima I: The First Age of Darkness, and Ultima VII: The Complete Edition, among others.
