Democrat Marni von Wilpert wins election to U.S. House in California’s 48th Congressional District
Democrat Teresa Benitez-Thompson claimed victory Wednesday in a U.S. House election for Nevada's 2nd Congressional District, defeating Republican David Flippo. This election marked a shift in a district that had been represented by Republicans, led by Mark Amodei for over a decade. Benitez-Thompson, a former state Assembly majority leader with backing from labor groups, outpaced Flippo, an Air Force veteran who received support from President Donald Trump but not from Amodei. The Associated Press officially declared Benitez-Thompson the winner at 9:29 p.m. EST.
