Chase is expanding its luxury travel perks for premium credit cardholders by adding over 10,000 vacation home properties to its curated collection, The Edit, starting in January. This addition comes alongside survey findings that travelers are increasingly planning vacations around rewards, group experiences, and opportunities to learn new things.
Chase Travel CEO Jason Wynn explained that the move reflects changing traveler preferences, particularly among younger consumers and those planning vacations with larger groups. The new vacation homes will join the existing collection of more than 1,500 hotels and resorts, providing eligible cardholders with more options for using their annual travel credits.
To take advantage of the benefits, cardmembers must book a minimum four-night stay, and properties are curated through partnership with Plum Guide, which evaluates properties against 150 criteria covering comfort, design, and location. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders will receive a $150 in-stay credit for experiences and services, as well as perks like early check-in and late checkout when available.
The expansion aims to offer customers a larger variety of options that match the reason for their travel, whether that be a luxurious hotel or a private home. Cardmembers can receive up to $500 annually for Sapphire Reserve cardholders and up to $1,000 for Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders, with a maximum of $250 per stay.
Chase Travel bookings are also seeing a shift towards cash payments, with more than half of transactions now paid in cash rather than points. Despite this shift, the company is working to persuade customers to book through its platform, regardless of payment method, by offering benefits such as Points Boost and a price match guarantee.
