Big Ghun partners Betfox Ghana for 3,000 helmets distribution campaign

Renowned filmmaker, rapper and creative individual Big Ghun has joined forces with BetfoxGhana to launch a nationwide road safety campaign. The campaign aims to distribute over 3,000 motorcycle helmets to riders across Ghana, a critical move given the alarming statistics of motorcycle-related accidents. In 2025, 1,345 out of 2,949 road fatalities were attributed to motorcycle crashes, accounting for nearly 46 percent of all road deaths.

The situation remains alarming, with 2,151 road crash deaths and 12,230 injuries recorded between January and September 2026.

The campaign seeks to protect riders who rely on motorcycles as their primary means of livelihood and transportation. Big Ghun and the Betfox Ghana team paid a courtesy visit to the Ashaiman District Police Commander to kick off the initiative. They donated protective helmets to the police department and subsequently, distributed helmets directly to motorcycle riders within the streets of Ashaiman.

The campaign's objective extends beyond distributing helmets, as it intends to promote responsible riding, increased awareness of road safety regulations, and the consistent use of helmets by both riders and passengers.

While the initial goal is to distribute more than 3,000 helmets, the partners envision their impact to transcend the numerical figure. By safeguarding even a single life, they aim to protect an entire family's future. Road accidents can have devastating consequences, taking away a family's provider, disrupting a young person's aspirations, and leaving loved ones grappling with irreparable losses that could have been prevented.

Big Ghun intends to leverage his social media presence to keep motorcycle riders and community members informed about the campaign's upcoming locations. Should the need arise and additional resources become available, he is open to working with the partners to extend the initiative beyond its initial distribution target.

The ultimate ambition of the campaign is to foster greater public consciousness about motorcycle safety and encourage more individuals, institutions, and corporate bodies to contribute to saving lives on Ghana's roads. The partners firmly believe that at the end of every journey, someone is eagerly awaiting the safe return of a loved one. In many instances, a simple act like wearing a high-quality helmet can make all the difference in ensuring a safer journey.
