A bear cub charged at a family outside their home in Ome, western Tokyo, on November 3rd, narrowly missing the residents as it approached the front door. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. and was filmed by a neighbor who captured the bear emerging from nearby bushes and running toward the entrance where the family was gathered.
The cub, estimated to be around 50 centimeters long, startled the family who had been hearing reports of bears in the area. The man involved expressed feeling frightened but understood the reality of encountering a bear after the incident. Authorities in Akiruno, neighboring Ome, have reported a significant increase in bear sightings since October, leading to heightened concerns and precautionary measures advised for residents.
