Asus Launches ROG XG Station 3 eGPU With Thunderbolt 5

Asus has launched the ROG XG Station 3, an external GPU (eGPU) enclosure, marking the third generation of the product line. Differing from previous models, this iteration features an open-air design, with the graphics card mounted directly on the system, similar to a testbench setup.

The enclosure is primarily composed of the power supply unit (PSU), which remains the only enclosed component. Asus advises users to use a PSU with a minimum of 750W and an 80 PLUS Gold rating. Connectivity is achieved through a USB-C port, supporting the latest Thunderbolt 5 standard with both input and output capabilities. To utilize USB-C DisplayPort mode, external displays must also support USB-C.

The ROG XG Station 3 supports NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 Series and RTX PRO 6000 GPUs, AMD's Radeon RX 9000 Series cards, and Intel's Arc series GPUs. However, Asus has not disclosed local availability or pricing at the time of publication.
