Air India Turns Shopping Into Free Flight Rewards, Launches ‘The Maharaja Shop’ To Earn Points On Everyday Purchases

Mumbai: Air India has broadened its Maharaja Club loyalty scheme with the debut of 'The Maharaja Shop', an online store where customers can accumulate reward points while shopping for everyday items. This new feature allows members to earn Maharaja Points on purchases of electronics, luggage, travel accessories, fragrances, watches, jewellery, wellness products, and home essentials.

These points can then be redeemed for flights and upgrades on Air India flights. The marketplace also provides free shipping on eligible orders, further enhancing the rewards for members. Exclusive Collection In addition to everyday shopping, Air India has launched an exclusive line of branded merchandise through the new platform.

This includes Maharaja-themed magnets, aircraft-inspired keychains, lapel pins, postcards, coaster sets, and other travel essentials. These items appeal to frequent flyers, hobbyists, and aviation enthusiasts, providing them with additional avenues to earn loyalty points. Loyalty Expansion Sunil Suresh, Head of Loyalty, E-Commerce, and Marketing at Air India, stated that the launch marks another significant step in transforming the Maharaja Club into a holistic lifestyle loyalty program.

Suresh explained that the marketplace encourages members to earn points more regularly through everyday spending, deepening their connection with the airline beyond just travel. Global Partners The Maharaja Club currently enables members to earn points through Air India, Air India Express, and over 100 partners in various sectors such as aviation, hospitality, retail, lifestyle, and finance.

Air India has also partnered with SBI Card to launch a co-branded credit card with Visa, which will offer travel benefits. Redeeming points is available on Air India, Air India Express, and 25 Star Alliance partner airlines, while members also have access to over 1,100 airport lounges worldwide.
