White House reminds Americans: Trump is still your president
The White House affirmed that Donald Trump remains president, sharing a message and photo on social media following key Democratic midterm victories.
The US midterm elections resulted in Democrats capturing both the Senate and the House of Representatives, effectively reprimanding President Donald Trump for his style of politics. According to exit polls, half of voters saw the election as an opportunity to rebuke Trump, with 70% wanting Congress to provide more checks on his actions.
Trump's campaign against Iran was a significant factor in the Republican's poor performance. The new Congress is expected to take office on January 3, 2027, with Democrats retaining considerable executive authority due to their control over both chambers.
