Valverde stunner earns Real Madrid late win at AEK Athens

Real Madrid is set to expand its boardroom by appointing 22-time Grand Slam tennis champion Rafael Nadal as a director, the club announced. The appointment will be ratified by members at the General Assembly. Nadal, an honorary member, is celebrated for his remarkable sporting career, including 92 singles titles, two Olympic gold medals, five Davis Cup victories with Spain, and holding the world number one ranking.

Real Madrid highlighted Nadal's virtues such as humility, respect, and charity work, which align with the club's identity. Nadal expressed his enthusiasm and readiness to contribute to the club. The appointment comes as Nadal has been considered a potential successor to Real Madrid's President Florentino Perez, who secured another four-year term recently.
