Valverde blast snatches Real Madrid late win at AEK Athens
Real Madrid secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over AEK Athens in the Champions League on Wednesday, thanks to a stunning late goal from Federico Valverde. Jose Mourinho's side came from behind twice, first through Aboubakary Koita and then Jude Bellingham, before Koita's second goal put AEK ahead. Kylian Mbappe and Bellingham both equalized for Madrid, with the latter's cross leading to a brilliant finish.
Valverde, brought on in the second half, sealed the win with his powerful strike. Mourinho praised his players for not settling and fighting for the result, noting Real Madrid's perfect start with seven straight wins in all competitions.
