PSC dismisses three senior police officers, demotes 16

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed three senior police officers and demoted 16 more for misconduct. This decision was made after a plenary meeting presided over by the commission's Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu. In addition, the commission also imposed severe and ordinary reprimands on 21 and 2 officers respectively.

Three officers were found not guilty, while some previously suspended officers have been reinstated. The PSC emphasized its commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for corruption, human rights abuses, and other forms of misconduct in the Nigeria Police Force.
