Miami Makes College Football Playoff History With No 1 Ranking
Miami makes College Football Playoff history with its first No. 1 ranking as the unbeaten Hurricanes chase a national title.
The Miami Hurricanes have made history by earning the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time in program history, despite not being ranked at the top at the beginning of the season. The undefeated team entered the rankings with an impressive 8-0 record, surpassing No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Utah, No. 4 Indiana, and No. 5 Alabama.
This historic achievement marks Miami as just the 11th program to earn the No. 1 ranking since the current selection process began and the first Atlantic Coast Conference team to occupy the top spot since Clemson in 2017.
